This is a five day class for those that want a good overview of the art and science of color in post production. Ideal for anyone that is involved with look development, color grading or color pipelines. If you are self-taught or learned from online resources this course will help to fill in gaps in your knowledge and connect information into a helpful structure that enhances your future learning experience.

We begin with the physics and psychology of color. Learn about color spaces, color managed workflows and the human visual system. Understand the effects of long grading sessions, how to trust your eyes, and how to manage color constancy. Then we explore the way color grading tools work, how and when to use each of them.

Learn tricks for clean and fast color image analysis, balancing and matching. Take those skills further and discover how to achieve new looks from client references and what makes a look iconic. We discuss the cultural meanings or concepts styles impart to an image or project

The course includes methods for all genres from music videos to feature films and from internet, to broadcast and cinema. There is a devoted section to changes that HDR displays bring and you will explore the different techniques and deliverables required for HDR projects
